Terms and Conditions - IBSEN

a) Information for visitors

This site aims to facilitate registration for participants within IBSEN experimental sessions. IBSEN is a FET Open project and is funded by the European Commission as part of the Horizon 2020 program.

Universities participating in the IBSEN project are:

  • Universidad Carlos III de Madrid
  • Universidad de Zaragoza
  • University of Oxford
  • University of Cambridge
  • Universiteit van Amsterdam
  • Aalto University
  • Universitat de València

Its main objective is to build a simulator of human behaviour based on the decisions made by participants in a given number of experimental sessions.

At every session, the volunteers will access into a website where he/she will be given some information about a hypothetical and simulated situation.

Once informed, participants will be invited to make a series of decisions in exchange of which you will receive a real amount of money as payment. You are not expected to behave in any particular way. The aim of the project is to study individuals’ decision-making process.

b) Confidenciality of personal data

When registering on this site will ask for personal data. It is intended to check the identity and suitability of required profiles along experimental sessions and will be used for recruitment and payment purposes only. This process is necessary to fulfil the methodological approach of experimental economics and obtain high quality validated results.

As established in the consent form provided to all volunteers, IBSEN researchers undertakes to keep the Confidential Information secure and not to disclose it to any third party, including the obligation to establish the appropriate security hardware and software measures.

IBSEN accomplishes all procedures established by the Directive 95/46/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 October 1995 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data. We will inform all volunteers participating in IBSEN experimental sessions that their personal data will be collected by the file "LINEEX" stored owned by Universidad de Valencia and registered in the Spanish Agency of Data Protection.

Volunteers are entitled to request for access, modifications and cancelation of their own personal data by attaching identificative document to their request, addressed to Servicio de Informática - Protección de datos (Universitat de València), C/ Amadeo de Saboya, 4, 46010 Valencia. The reference "PROYECTO IBSEN H2020" should be provided to facilitate their request.

c) Anonymity of the results derivative from the decisions

Experiments’ results will be made anonymous. Consequently, behavioural data obtained by decision-making in the running of the experiment will not be associated to a particular identity, breaking the link between decisions made by the participant and his personal identification data immediately after the end of the session (payment procedure).

These data will be available, in a first moment and temporarily, exclusively for the researchers linked to the project to establish conclusions and prepare the scientific publications associated to these.

Once results have been expressed in scientific publications, data derivative from participants’ behaviour will be incorporated to a public-access repository according to the DMP (Data Management Plan) required by the European Commission for new projects framed in the H2020 calls: https://zenodo.org/about

For any query o further explanation, you may write to info@ibsen-h2020.eu or contact with the Principal Investigator of the University of Valencia, who will redirect you to the Laboratory where the experiment you are interested in participating or you have already participated is run.
